Friendship on a Saturday

Pat had a lacrosse game in Sausalito today, and I figured I’d be a good friend and bike over and watch him play. When I got there I caught the last ten minutes of the game and after everyone shook hands I found Pat and had a couple beers in the sun with him. Turns out I didn’t see him play at all since the Barbary Coast have a big game tomorrow and he wasn’t in for the second half to keep him fresh – but hey, I tried!

After that I biked up to Mountain Home Inn and got a coke and a few honey sticks. I locked up my bike and walked around for a bit on the Matt Davis Trail and then some animal trails that took my to a hidden grove of redwoods. I took a nap in the sun with some birds and a creek for company. On the way home I stopped by KFC to refuel and then biked back to the Marina.

The moral of the story is, the day might not end up like you thought it would, but if you buddy asks you to do something you probably should.

Golden Gate Kite Boarders

I love running down to the Golden Gate Bridge and seeing Kite Boarders skimming over the bay. You can usually spot a few people out on the water when the wine is good, and weekly races make Thursdays the best times to look for Kite Boarders.

Here are some pictures I’ve taken of Kite Boarders in the bay (view them all here).

My favorite shot I took last year on a hazy day right before sunset:

Best View in San Francisco

Pat and I went on a night adventure to mount sutro open space preserve and then to tank hill with our friends Mao and Thomas on Friday. It was a great combination of friendship, good times, adventure and photo opportunities! See the bottom for a map and go visit yourself (hint, start by going west on 17th until you think there is a dead end – there will be a little path headed up into the sutro wilderness).

Rainy Day Nor Cal

It’s been snowing in the mountains which means rain for San Fran. But that doesn’t hold us back. Had a fun surf session this morning with Matt and even though my hands are still missing some feeling it’s been a great start to the day. Exploring the city, even on rainy or cloudy days can create some very unique landscapes. Check out the picture below.
